Sorry about the delay in posting! I was on my mid-term last week and I decided to totally relax and take a blogging break for myself too. I had been so busy recently with teaching and styling that I really cherished the break.
I decided to do another post on what I wear to work. As I said in a previous post, my style for work can really vary. Teaching on a fashion course allows me to be a little bit creative with what I wear. For today's outfit I am wearing high-waisted trousers from River Island. I really like this shape, but I do think high-waisted aren't always the easiest style to wear as although they can emphasise a smaller waist they can actually accentuate your hips. River Island hasn't always been a favourite shop of mine, but in recent years I feel they have changed their branding and pricing to become more diversified to suit a larger target audience. I now think that whether you are 15 or 35 you will find something that suits. The shirt is from Brown Thomas, a label called Des Petits Haute. I bought it two summers ago in a sale along with a Kelly green oversized jumper dress. The blouse was a great buy as it washes really well and looks exactly the same as the day I bought it. I prefer to wear this blouse when my hair is straight as it has a pattern and I think pattern and curls don't work well together. It's just too fussy!
My photos for this post were taken by the fashion photographer Saibh Egan. I have had the pleasure of working with Saibh several times since I started my new venture, most recently for the photoshoots I styled for the Irish Examiner. The initial plan was to take these pictures outside, but Galway being Galway meant the rain did not stay away for long and we ended up running home to take them at my house. If anybody out there is looking for a photographer to do your street style or professional images for your business, Saibh is the girl you need! Check out her Facebook page.
Have a good week.
