Transitional Look - Pink is the New Black!

Hi all, thanks to everyone for all the likes and comments on the first personal style post. It's a bit daunting doing the personal style section so I was delighted to get such a positive response.

I spend so much time in Dublin these days between visiting family and friends and work that I have started to make a conscious effort to see some more of the sights. On our way home to Galway on Sunday we decided to take a detour at Phoenix Park and visit Farmleigh House. Farmleigh is the official Irish State guest house, It was formerly one of the Dublin residences of the Guiness family. It is such a magnificent place, the surrounding buildings, gardens and walks were so beautiful especially this time of the year. It is definitely worth the visit!

As the weather was really nice for the day, I decided to go for a transitional look! I really like this time of the year as I love layering up and it means you can really mix up pieces from your summer and winter wardrobe. The colours for Autumn Winter also overlap with the traditional summer hues. Designers such as Marc Jacobs, DKNY and Jonathan Saunders go as far as to say that PINK IS THE NEW BLACK with their new collections for Autumn Winter 2013!

The coat is a gift from Colin for my birthday. I spotted it in The Style magazine of the Irish Times a few weeks back and dropped a few hints :) ! This type of coat can work well on a number of different shapes especially on larger sizes as the soft silhouette complement their shape. I was a little surprised to see that the coat came from Hobbs. Although a very good label it's usually more suitable for the mature customer. Having said that, Kate Middleton has been spotted in a few of their pieces lately.  A great place for mother of the bride! The blouse is from ASOS, I love the shape of collar. I think it hangs perfectly over the jumper. The jumper is from Topshop, I love the colour but unfortunately it reduces in size each time it's washed! The jeans were a purchase I made over the summer, a loose interpretation of the boyfriend jeans trend. The shoes are from River Island, although I tend to go for more of a heel I couldn't ignore these when I saw them.

I hope you enjoyed the post, I will put up a few other pics from Farmleigh on my Instagram and Twitter account!
